Winter weather continues to wreak havoc across the country, triggering widespread flight cancellations, particularly in the South and Mid-Atlantic regions.
According to FlightAware, airlines canceled more than 3,500 U.S. flights on Friday, with another 6,700 flights experiencing delays.
The disruptions intensified on Saturday, with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) bearing the brunt of the impact. After canceling three-quarters of its flights on Friday, ATL began Saturday with significant ground delays and over 100 additional flight cancellations.
Other major airports faced similar challenges. Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) recorded more than 100 flight cancellations on Saturday, while Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and Nashville International Airport (BNA) also experienced substantial disruptions over the two-day period.
