Travelers can explore Egypt and its fascinating history on an 11-night Secrets of Egypt & the Nile journey with luxury river cruise line AmaWaterways.
The journey begins with a three-night land package in Cairo where travelers can enjoy an Egyptologist-led tour through the Egyptian Museum, home to the magnificent artifacts like King Tutankhamen’s many treasures.
Travelers will also visit the Alabaster Mosque and the capital of ancient Memphis, where they’ll experience the Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx and the Step Pyramid of King Zoser in person. While staying in Cairo, travelers will stay in one of two luxurious accommodations: the Hotel St. Regis or The Ritz-Carlton.
Then the cruise begins: embarking on the boutique AmaDahlia or AmaLilia to sail down the Nile. Along the way, they’ll enjoy a private tour of the Tomb of Queen Nefertari, the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon, the Temple of Horus, Abu Simbel, the Great Temple of Kom Ombo and more.
Each night while on the ship, guests are entertained with cultural experiences from cooking classes to traditional performances.
The Nile River cruise then ends back in Cairo, where travelers can enjoy a few more experiences, including a private tour of Abdeen Palace including lunch, a visit to Coptic Cairo and more.
