Ahead of the Puppy Bowl on February 9, Lyft is partnering with Animal Planet to offer discounted Pet Rides and encourage pet adoptions before the Big Game.

Designed with animal lovers in mind, Lyft’s Pet Rides allows riders to match with pet-friendly drivers happy to welcome furry friends into their vehicles. For just $4 plus tax, you can take your playful pup or curious cat with you on your ride and the fee goes directly to the driver.

To celebrate the Puppy Bowl, Lyft is offering 50 percent off two Pet Rides and up to $20 per ride with the code PUPPYBOWL starting February 2 through February 9.

The Puppy Bowl’s mission is to highlight adoptable pets, and these rides can even be used to get to and from animal shelter visits with your new adopted or fostered pup in tow.

During the week of Super Bowl 59 and Puppy Bowl, pet riders in New Orleans will also have the opportunity to be surprised with a Pupmobile on their pickup. The vehicle is equipped with Puppy Bowl swag like dog bandanas and toys to be gifted to lucky pets and their owners.

Lyft has also unveiled new data around where —and when—people are taking their pets in the US.

Riders are most pet-forward on the West Coast. The 10 cities where pet mode is most popular are in the states of Arizona, Colorado, Washington, California and Oregon.

The top pet ride destinations are Mission Dolores Park in San Francisco and Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Dog PPL, a private social club in Los Angeles that includes a dog park, lounge, bar and café represents 22 percent of pet rides to parks.

Other pet ride destinations include:

  • Pet businesses - 9.58%
  • Pet store - 3.41%
  • Camping / park - .17%
  • Airport - 0.10%

The most popular time for pet rides is the weekend afternoon, when rides are 3 times the average.

And the top five cities where people are taking their pets to work include:

  • Tacoma, WA
  • Honolulu, HI
  • Chattanooga, TN
  • Portland, OR
  • Denver, CO
