Move over January fitness resolution, G Adventures wants travelers to remain fit well beyond the first month of 2025.
And to encourage year-long wellness, the tour company has just launched 25 new active adventures for the year ahead.
The more than two dozen trip additions will take intrepid travelers to lesser-explored regions in destinations such as Japan, South Africa, Pakistan, the Balkans, Morocco, the Galapagos, and Peru.
Equally importantly, the latest G Adventures trips will all have a strong focus on supporting local communities in the regions visited.
“Each trip highlights G Adventures’ commitment to providing the very best active experiences, taking travelers deeper into destinations, in the most immersive yet thrilling ways, from hiking and swimming to cycling and paddling – and more,” the company said in a statement.

A Closer Look at the New Trips
Within the new launch, there will be eight new trips in Japan, three in Morocco and two in Pakistan.
The new trips cover three physical grading categories, including 3 (average), 4 (demanding) and 5 (challenging), with options for travelers with varying levels of fitness and differing appetites for higher-octane adventures, said G Adventures.
And at a time when overtourism is a significant challenge around the world, the destinations on the new G Adventures trips were “specially selected to help disperse tourism within each country.”
That means not only will the trips take groups to new destinations, they will help take travelers off-the-beaten track in existing destinations. That could include traveling beyond Kruger National Park in South Africa, skipping the city lights to witness the unsung southern islands of Japan or staying in a community guesthouse on a rarely seen island in the Galápagos.

Active and Mindful Explorations
Despite the ‘Active’ category and more physical focus, each of the new itineraries were purposefully designed to delve deeper into destinations and support local communities, leaving time for interaction and reflection, said G Adventures.
“Yet the trips don’t compromise on adventure – travelers may find themselves taking on steep hikes in Morocco’s lesser-known Rif Mountains, sandboarding down dunes just outside of Cape Town in South Africa or trekking mountain trails between Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro,” the company said.
Yves Marceau, vice president of product for G Adventures, believes the new trips make the most of G Adventures’ active trip formula, while also helping travelers experience more of the world via quiet hiking paths, rivers and bays.
“Travelers are seeking authentic experiences, but active ones, too,” Marceau said.
“Interest has soared in this category, with more travelers wanting to switch off and connect with the world on a more physical level,” Marceau continued. “We’ve hand-picked destinations with the intention of looking beyond the usual trails and, instead, are bringing travelers to lesser-visited regions and villages, via incredible hiking routes, kayak trips and biking excursions, helping to support local communities who haven’t been able to benefit from tourism in the past.”
