Universal Orlando Resort filed a proposal with the South Florida Water Management District this week to replace a largely unpopular roller coaster with a new, currently unannounced one.
According to Theme Park Insider, the roller coaster in question is the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster.
The proposal would remove the coaster and replace it with a different attraction, which some speculate could be the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster that’s expected to open at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2026.
The news likely isn’t surprising for avid park-goers.
It’s likely the deconstruction will not begin until after Universal Orlando Resort celebrates the opening of its new theme park, Universal Epic Universe, on May 22, 2025.
Future guests can purchase tickets for the new theme park now, which will offer new themed worlds featuring Harry Potter, Super Mario Bros., How to Train Your Dragon and more.
