The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards on Thursday, including the 10 films up for Best Picture at the 2025 Oscars.

This year's ceremony is scheduled for March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. However, travelers don't have to wait to celebrate their favorite movies of the year.

Here's a look at the filming locations for this year's Best Picture nominees.

Brooklyn and Las Vegas - Anora

Sean Baker's hit rom-com drama Anora was filmed throughout Brooklyn, New York, specifically the Brighton Beach, Coney Island and Sheepshead Bay neighborhoods. The property at 2458 National Drive was used for the Zakharov mansion.

The crew also traveled to Las Vegas to film some scenes at the Palms Casino Resort and Fremont Street.

Budapest and Tuscany - The Brutalist

The Brutalist starring the youngest-ever Academy Award winner for Best Actor in Adrien Brody was filmed in Budapest, Hungary before production eventually moved to Carrara in the pop culture friendly Tuscany, Italy. In the movie, Brody plays Hungarian-born Jewish Holocaust survivor László Tóth, who immigrates to the U.S. to chase the American Dream.

New Jersey - A Complete Unknown

James Mangold's Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown starring Timothée Chalamet was slated to be filmed in New York City and Montreal, Canada before the Screen Actors Guild strike in 2023. The film was ultimately shot in New Jersey, with Jersey City standing in for scenes set in the Big Apple.

Rome, Italy - Conclave

Based on the 2016 Robert Harris novel, Conclave received eight nominations for this year's Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Filming took place in Rome, including at Europe's largest film studio Cinecittà Studios.

Set designers were able to replicate the Sistine Chapel. Meanwhile, costume designers visited Gammarelli—the official tailor of the pope—as well as several museums throughout Rome, to gain inspiration for the characters' outfits.

Italy, Abu Dhabi, Namibia and Budapest - Dune: Part Two

Timothée Chalamet has not one but two films nominated for Best Picture in 2025, including Dune: Part Two. The sequel to 2021's hit remake was filmed in a handful of exotic destinations, including at the Brion tomb in Altivole, Italy, Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates and Namibia, which is the driest country in sub-Saharan Africa and thus an ideal locale to play a desert planet.

Shooting also took place in Budapest, Hungary.

Paris, France - Emilia Pérez

Leading the Oscars with a whopping 13 nominations, the controversial musical crime comedy Emilia Pérez was originally planned to be filmed on location in Mexico.

However, director Jacques Audiard instead took the crew to a studio in Paris, France, where designers reconstructed an "authentic Mexican backdrop." The movie was shot in the bustling Île-de-France region in the spring and summer of 2023.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - I’m Still Here

I'm Still Here, which is based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva's namesake 2015 memoir, was shot in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In addition to downtown Rio, fans of the film can head to the beaches of Leblon and Ipanema to follow in the characters' footsteps.

Rio's Urca and Jardim Botânico neighborhoods also feature in the movie, highlighting sites such as Mureta da Urca, Praia da Urca and Sugarloaf Mountain.

Louisiana - Nickel Boys

A historical drama based on Colson Whitehead's 2019 novel, Nickel Boys was shot from a very unique first-person point-of-view, with filming taking place in Louisiana more than two years ago.

Locations that appear in the film include New Orleans, LaPlace, Hammond and Ponchatoula. As far as landmarks are concerned, crews used the office building of the Lafourche Parish District Attorney as a filming location in Thibodaux.

France - The Substance

The Substance was shot entirely in France. The crew filmed scenes at Epinay Studios in Seine-Saint-Denis, Île-de-France near Paris and shot Côte d'Azur for the movie's Los Angeles scenes. Locations included Antibes and the Marineland parking lot.

Additionally, writer, producer and director Coralie Fargeat shot the film's palm trees in Cannes and filmed in Nice, Carros and Saint-Laurent-du-Var to complete production.

England - Wicked

A musical hit decades in the making, Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande and was primarily filmed at the new Sky Studios Elstree in Borehamwood, England a few miles north of London.

"In order to have as much control of production as possible, they took full advantage of the state-of-the-art film studio’s 12 soundstages," according to Time Out. "In fact, production on Wicked was so humongous that they even had to use stages at the nearby Elstree Studios and at the Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden—home of Harry Potter and more recently, Wonka—in the same county."

Outdoor filming occurred at a site at Ivinghoe Turf in Buckinghamshire, UK.
