Amtrak, in partnership with the Los Angeles – San Diego – San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) Rail Corridor Agency, is offering $10 fares on its Pacific Surfliner train service for anywhere on the LOSSAN Rail Corridor to provide those impacted by the devastating wildfires with a low-cost transportation method.
The discounted fare is available when using code V505 during checkout. It’s available for one-way coach travel between any two of the 29 stations between San Luis Obispo and San Diego. Tickets can be purchased by January 17, 2025 for travel now through January 24.
Some of the 29 destinations the route stops at include Grover Beach, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Moorpark, Northridge, Burbank - Airport, Anaheim, Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Irvine, Oceanside and two parts of San Diego.
Travel companies have been pouring out support for those impacted by the wildfires; the Hotel Association of Los Angeles are providing shelter to evacuees, while Airbnb partnered with nonprofit 211 LA to provide temporary shelter for those who were displaced. Delta Air Lines provided the Red American Red Cross with a $1 million donation.
Rideshare app Lyft has also been providing two free rideshares per person to shelters, which remains in effect through January 15.
