Nashville is set to become a busy hub for flights to Europe.
Two airlines have announced plans to start direct flights from Tennessee's Music City to Ireland and Iceland.
First up is Aer Lingus, which in a statement on its website today revealed its intentions to begin a new direct route between Dublin to Nashville as of April, 2025. There will be four flights per week operating on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
"We are thrilled to add Nashville to our expanding North American network, offering Irish customers direct access into one of the most exciting and culturally rich cities in the United States,” Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus’ chief customer officer, said in a statement.
Airline representatives said the new direct connections will allow for “stronger economic ties and business travel between Ireland, Nashville and the wider state of Tennessee where there are a number of economic synergies.”
Tickets for the new Aer Lingus route go on sale today.
Not to be outdone, Icelandair made its own announcement today about new flights departing from Nashville to Reykjavik.
In the case of Icelandair, the flights will operate four times per week from May 16, 2025 through October. The flight schedule will be Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
“We are very pleased to add Nashville to our extensive network in North America, linking Music City to our 34 destinations in Europe,” Bogi Nils Bogason, Icelandair president and CEO, said in a statement.
“We know travelers from the Southeast will greatly benefit from this new service…Our new service will also provide travelers from Iceland and Europe, connecting through Nashville, more choices throughout the US. In addition, we encourage passengers traveling to Europe, to take an Icelandair Stopover, and explore our home," added Bogason.
