D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event being held in Anaheim, California announced several new Disney projects, from four new Disney Cruise Line ships to news about Hong Kong Disneyland Resort’s extended Marvel-themed area, which will soon feature a new story surrounding Spider-Man and Stark Industries.
The Marvel parks saga continues at Hong Kong Disneyland’s Tomorrowland world. Over the next few years, the area will expand its Marvel-themed offerings around a storyline where Peter Parker is the newest Stark Industries intern during the Stark Expo, which showcases the company’s latest inventions.
It’s the third major addition to the Marvel area inside the park. The park is home to two exclusive Marvel experiences already: Iron Man Experience and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle!, along with seasonal offerings like Marvel Super Heroes, the Avengers Deployment Vehicle and a Marvel-themed drone show.
There is currently no end-date for when the expanded experiences will be finished at the parks, though it is likely to take several years.
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort isn’t the only Disney park getting new lands, worlds and other fun expansions: Disney World’s Magic Kingdom will see a new Villains land, a “Cars”-themed area and a “Pirates of the Caribbean”-themed lounge that could offer cast-led experiences and adult beverages.
