Impressionism is a distinctive art style that arose in France during the late 19th century. Popularized by artists like Claude Monet and Edgar Degas, Impressionism emphasized painting in nature, rather than in a studio, as well as thick paint and visible brush strokes. Impressionists often tried to capture subtle differences in light and shadow at different times of day.
Now, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of Impressionism, CroisiEurope is launching a new river cruise itinerary along the Seine River.
The 5-night voyage, which sails round trip from Paris, launched this month and will continue through the end of August. It’s being offered onboard the MS Seine Princess and the MS Renoir
The river cruise operator is taking guests through the same landscapes that inspired Impressionist artists like Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley and Frédéric Bazille. After departing from Paris, travelers will call on Poissy, Mantes-La-Jolie, Honfleur and Rouen before returning to the French capital.
