Atlas Ocean Voyages, the yacht-style expedition cruise line, is launching its 2024 Arctic Season this summer with two yachts, the World Traveller and the World Navigator, heading to the region for the first time, where they’ll explore the wonders of Iceland, Norway, Greenland and more.
For the first time, the cruise line will visit Greenland, offering a selection of 9-night to 12-night expeditions visiting Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland, with departures available for August 5, August 15, August 21, August 25, September 1 and September 6.
A 7-night journey will take travelers from Tromsø to Longyearbyen on June 21, sailing along the Norwegian coast to visit Hammerfest, Skarsvåg and Svalbard.
A unique polar summer expedition is the Oslo to Reykjavik trip, departing August 10. It features special ports in Norway: Bergen, Stavanger, Flam, Olden and Alesund as well as the Icelandic ports of Seyðisfjörður, Akureyri and Isafjordur.
Expeditions embarking or ending in Longyearbyen or Kangerlussuaq also include charter jet service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport or Oslo Gardermoen Airport, depending on the itinerary.
Every one of Atlas’s Polar Expeditions offers a free Cultural Immersion experience. In Greenland, this may include a trip to the Indigenous villages of Ittoqqortoormiit, Paamiut, or Ilulissat, complete with learning experiences and regional foods.
