Apparently, for American Airlines, there's no place like home.
The U.S. carrier has expanded or added new service on as many as 30 routes from its headquarters at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) this coming summer, its largest schedule ever from DFW.
That is for both domestic and international flights. They include destinations as small as Abilene, Texas and Albany, New York, and as large as San Francisco. American will also fly to Barcelona, Los Cabos and San Jose, Costa Rica.
The flights are already available to book.
"We're thrilled to offer more seats than ever before to our local and connecting customers at DFW next summer. Following our team's strong operational performance this year, and the airline's continued investments in its largest hub, we are prepared and excited to operate this robust schedule," said Jim Moses, American's senior vice president of DFW hub operations, in a statement.
The airline will have more than 850 departures from DFW alone next summer. American CEO Robert Isom said he envisions a day when the carrier will have more than 1,000 daily departures from DFW.
DFW has emerged as an international hub for American. The airline will expand two terminals there and build a sixth terminal as well.
American last month cut its international flights from Seattle.
