Featuring a keynote address from Emmy Award-winning
television, film and theater actress and singer, Hannah Waddington, ALG
Vacations hosted its second annual Kindness Conference at Secrets Tides
Punta Cana.
Dedicated to celebrating and promoting kindness within the travel
industry, the 2024 conference gathered an accomplished group of 40 next-gen
travel advisors committed to making a positive impact worldwide. In addition,
ALGV presented its inaugural Kindness Connection, hosting 40 seasoned travel
advisors with more than 20 years of experience in the industry. The event was
joined by 10 rising leaders from ALG Vacations Marketing, Sales, Operations,
and Finance teams and esteemed representatives from Trisept, Amstar DMC and the
Inclusive Collection, part of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts.
Under the theme “Kindness in Action,” the conference focused
on three fundamental principles that embody the spirit of ALG Vacations and its
commitment to care and kindness: kindness to ourselves, kindness to others, and
kindness in travel.
"We were so pleased to extend our warmest
congratulations and heartfelt welcome to this year’s attendees of this
industry-leading event," said Jacki Marks, Global Head of Trade Brands at
ALG Vacations. "Once again, we have gathered an exceptional group of
individuals: the kindest, brightest and most influential travel advisors under
the age of 40 along with our seasoned advisors with over 20 years' experience.
Together, we are excited to continue furthering our mission of caring for
others and giving back through travel.”
“Not only does Hannah Waddingham spread kindness through her
performance on Ted Lasso, but also by embodying our kindness pillars in her
everyday life,” Marks added. “She was just the person to share our message and
empower the group to put care at the heart of everything they do.”
Conference participants engaged in discussions and workshops
that explored the impact of kindness in the travel industry, share valuable
industry insights and foster meaningful connections. The agenda included
sessions on professional development, wellness, self-care, giving back to
communities in need and promoting respect for diverse cultures and
destinations.
Attendees visited the Cañada Honda Rural School and the
Fundación Un Mundo Mejor Para La Niñez Desamparada, where they donated supplies
and assisted with minor renovations to provide a safe and engaging learning
environment for students. The Fundación fosters a mission of caring for
vulnerable and abandoned children – a mission ALGV firmly supports.
"At ALG Vacations, our actions demonstrate our purpose,
which is to care for people so they can be their best. Caring deeply about our
purpose is foundational to all we do at ALGV," said Ray Snisky, ALG
Vacations’ Group President.
He added, "Kindness is not just a concept but a guiding
principle that shapes our interactions with each other and the world around us.
This conference serves as a testament to our collective commitment to fostering
a more compassionate and sustainable future for travel."
